The Winning Essays Are ...

The Winning Essays Are ... by Nicholas D. Kristof

Moving excerpts were selected and published from an overwhelming cast of 1200 applicants who shared their struggles and triumphs over teenage bullying.

This recap story by the NYTimes is brief and pays homage to many of the plights that teenage youth are facing; closing out the article are words from the grand prize winner, who powerfully shares her survival and reflection for the rest of us.

The motive behind sharing these stories is not only for solidarity behind the cause but also for adults to hear their voices, stop the skepticism, and address hate where there is hate.  It is our responsibility to role model strength and take off the sunglasses of blindness, especially in times when these kids are in the darkest of places.
