Sound Fiscal Management

The below note is from Stephen Woodsum:

The four star rating is reserved for the nonprofit organizations that meet the highest standards of sound fiscal management, accountability and transparency. Only one percent of all of the organizations rated by Charity Navigator have received a four star rating for eight years running. Here’s what Charity Navigator’s President and CEO said about City Year:

Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. Only 1% of the charities we rate have received at least 8 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that City Year outperforms most other charities in America. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates City Year from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.

It is a proud moment for City Year and I am pleased to be able to share this good news.
